Massage Oil

Mineral oil is not recommended when doing infant massage, as it is derived from petroleum oil and subsequently is a barrier cream thus meaning that it does not allow the skin to breath. The oils that are used in the infant massage classes are organic vegetable oil and are easily absorbed into the skin. These are a mixture of oils that we Certified Infant Massage Instructors (CIMI) use:

There is a complimentary bottle of oil given to those attending the baby massage classes.  The oil is a mix of organic cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil and organic cold pressed sunflower oil .

The sun flower is made from the first pressing of selected natural seeds following the paper filtration which guarantees a low natural acidity and nutritional goodness.

The organic rapeseed oil is produced in Co. Kilkenny and is rich in omega 3 and 6 it is produced without any fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, synthetic fertilisers or chemical solvents www.secondnatureoils.com

The oil used in the Adult Therapeutic Massage is almond oil, this is also a vegetable oil and is easily absorbed in to the skin
